CONSULTANCY

For faculty administrators and faculty developers

Your faculty deserves the writing and wellness support they need, but when you are only one person, this can be a challenge.

As a writing consultant for your faculty, I can provide support for projects such as:
  • Articles
  • Books
  • Book proposals
  • Book chapters
  • External grants
  • External fellowships
  • Creative works
  • I can also facilitate writing retreats, conduct "reset" workshops, and host customizable sessions to address faculty needs.

Feedback, support, and guidance are useful at all stages of a faculty member's trajectory - the early stages, at key moments in the writing process, and post-tenure, but as a faculty developer, your capacity is limited and you can’t be all things to all faculty.

Let me lighten your load.

01

The Discovery Call

Every situation at each university is unique, so let’s start the process by simply talking through your needs. Schedule a free consultation call where we’ll discuss what you’re struggling with or simply thinking about, and come up with a plan for how I can help.

02

The Work

Based on our conversation during the discovery call, I will put together a custom proposal for you and then we’ll get to work. Examples of ways I’ve worked with universities in the past include as an on-retainer consultant (for programs such as writing consultancy), running workshops or retreats (focusing on issues such as overcoming writer’s block), or on a one-off consultancy basis (for times when you need a collegial confidant). Topics we can cover include writing support, developmental editing, mindset work, faculty well-being, and more.

The Investment

Our work together is fully customizable, and a discovery call is an ideal place to start to get your faculty the support that they need.

Give Your Faculty Support

As a faculty developer, you’re seeking innovative ways to support your faculty in their writing process. You want to offer them developmental writing support on a larger scale. But you are only one person, which makes it hard to offer them this service the way you wish you could.

Why me?

My CV  includes 30 years as an educator, 10 of which I spent as a tenure-track professor at The University of Wyoming and Loyola University. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, a Master’s of Education in Secondary Teaching, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction.

I’ve held numerous administrative and faculty positions throughout my career, and have published over two dozen academic articles and two academic books.

I take all of this experience now and use it to help individuals in academia become the best writers they can be.
