Strategic soulful support for academics who are done doing this alone
Expert editing, strategic guidance, and human support - for faculty and graduate writers navigating pressure, burnout, and courageous intellectual work.
"The level of expertise that Dra. Chang offers is incredible, but more so what I appreciate are the conversations that we have. Talking about everything from theoretical frameworks, to the structure of the paper, to some insecurities that I have about imposter syndrome and facing this really big project. I will continue to work with Dra. Chang with every academic project that I have going forward. It’s not only the exceptional quality of her work;
it’s the friendship and the conversations that truly set this experience apart."

support your faculty now
“Dra. Chang helped our faculty move from stuck to submitted. Her support was affirming, strategic, and exactly what they needed.”
“This wasn’t just about writing. It helped me reconnect with why I do this work — and who I’m doing it for.”
What is your overall approach to working with clients?
My approach is pedagogical, relational, and deeply human. I believe you already have what you need within you — insight, expertise, and voice. My role is to help you recognize and trust those strengths while providing structure, tools, and strategies that make your work feel more doable and aligned. We work collaboratively to find a rhythm that supports both your goals and your capacity.
How do check-ins work?
Most clients meet with me weekly. Early in our work together, sessions tend to be longer as we build context, trust, and a shared understanding of your projects. Over time, these meetings often become shorter (sometimes 15-minute check-ins) focused on accountability, momentum, and decision-making. Check-ins are always supportive and strategic — never judgmental or evaluative.
What is your editing process like?
My standard turnaround time for edits is seven business days. I typically begin with big-picture feedback, delivered through a detailed editorial memo along with comments embedded directly in your document. This feedback focuses on structure, clarity, argument, and overall flow.
After you’ve responded to that round of feedback, we decide together how to proceed. This may include another round of higher-level revision or a shift into line-level editing, where I focus on sentence clarity, word choice, transitions, and polish.
Do you do line editing right away?
Usually, no — and this is intentional. Addressing big-picture issues first prevents wasted effort and ensures that line-level edits are meaningful and efficient. Once the structure and argument are solid, line editing becomes far more effective.
How do you track time and hours?
We track hours transparently and collaboratively. You will always know how your time is being used and where you stand in your package. No surprises. No guesswork.
What if my needs change as we work together?
That’s expected — and welcomed. We regularly revisit priorities and adjust our approach as your projects, energy, or goals evolve. The process is designed to be responsive, not rigid.
What’s the ultimate goal of working together?
Forward motion that feels sustainable, grounded, and aligned — not just polished writing, but greater clarity, confidence, and trust in your own process.

Working with Dra. Chang was one of the highlights of writing my book. I found her feedback to be comprehensive, thoughtful, and supportive. The process can feel really isolating and lonely - it was really great to have someone who was able to be such a positive force in my writing project. I would definitely recommend her. Don’t hesitate! Go get that work done!

Dra. Chang has been instrumental in guiding me to be the professor I want to be. She sees potential in me that I know is there, but often times I struggle to articulate.

I’ve worked with Aurora a couple of times in the past, and each of those times have been transformational in terms of my thinking. Aurora helped me clarify my thinking around my manuscript, and transform what was essentially a hodgepodge of data and ideas, into a coherent manuscript that was accepted for publication.

Absolutely! My first language is Spanish and I got my start in and found my love for editing when my mom went back to college in her 40s as a mother of six. I edited ALL of her papers and am proud to say we both graduated from college the same year. I've also worked with hundreds of non-native-speaking students, academics, and clients.
